01-02-2012 Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I will try to see the purpose in living in Nevada.....I will try, I will try, I will try......oh yeal, Mitchell has a job he loves.....that is a good reason. :)

We come home from a great weekend to a freezing house. Why? Because we don't have central heat....we use little space heaters and you cannot leave them on the whole time you are gone for days and days.....it is a safety hazard.

So now, it was right at freezing when we came in....we have made it up to a little past 40. Looks like all my plants froze while we were gone. :( I grow most of them in water....water froze, they froze. Poor things.

Mitchell went under house to turn back on the water. No water. Why you might ask?? We don't know. Maybe it is frozen from the pump to the house?? I really don't know.

I spend my whole life finding the good in thing.....being an optimist is how I roll. Right now....well......I would walk away from here and never look back, if I could. <sigh>

I'm sure I will see the humor in this one day......anyone who reads this.....send warm thoughts this way.....okay? :) Thanks.
(this is copied from my FB posting)

  • Turtle Chernish Warm and fuzzy thoughts headed your way; and a nice, HOT cup of coffee (__)P just for you!!!
  • Terrie Lynn Gelman Thanks.....hot coffee is well received right now.
  • Mags Barr Can you not buy timer switches for the little heaters?
  • Susanne Wolf Here, have a mug of the most awesome hot peppermint cocoa mix my daughter made, it tastes like liquid Thin Mints! (_)P Was going to ask about your water pipes, and hoping none of them busted!
  • Laura Curtis Hugs to you both and keep your chin up xx
  • Stephanie Bertrand Spada I felt that way years ago I know what your feeling and like you said you do it for Mitchell Hugs and warmth to you. Love you!
  • Marji Reineke Franklin Warm thoughts for sure, as I lay here myself under 3 blankets with 2 space heaters on. Drink a huge mug if hot chocolate and snuggle up with your honey.
  • Terrie Lynn Gelman I simply want to pack up some things and head to Texas till spring hits.....then come back. Whimpy, I know.
  • Stephanie Gelman You can always come and stay with us for a few days while Mitchel is at work. Come anytime.
  • Turtle Chernish Have faith, TL! You'll get into the swing of the new diggs before long. You're maybe reacting from the chaos of your trip and coming back to a frozen home. When the heat's back on, and the water is flowing again, your attitude will start to swing back. Honest! Lean on us 'till then!
  • Terrie Lynn Gelman Oh Turtle....you know I am always optimistic.....thanks for your support tho. I just don't do "cold".....the part that worries me, we haven't even really hit winter here, yet. February is supposed to be the winter month for around here. brrrrrrrr Let's run away somewhere warm together
  • Turtle Chernish I know of what you speak! I'd give nearly anything to live somewhere the temps stay between 70 - 75 F. all the time! The cold makes me surly, miserable and short-tempered (at best!) Florida is where I was born to live, but Canada thinks otherwise
