Vet visit (11-20)

Cinderella and I finally got to the vet here in TMON. She acted like a fool.....wanted to check out every dog coming in the door....and of course I wouldn't let her. She made others laugh with how excited she was to see them.

Seems I was pretty spot on with what I thought. She is probably between 4-5 years old. Her front legs, they were not broken in an accident somewhere in her life. She was born extremely bow-legged. I told him her legs remind me of a wiener dog's front legs....they are the same shape and turn like in the same way a wiener dog's do. She is probably not spaded. No scar is easy to see.... So she is set to be done in December. Now she has all of her shots. Yea. Far as the vet could tell, she is in excellent health. Yea.

==================================

Later that night she was scratching non-stop.  All over her body, including her ears.  I told Mitchell I think she is having an allergic reaction to one of the shots.    There is no one to call about it out here in TMON....so I call my vet tech friend Susanne.  She confirmed it is possible to be allergic to one of the shots.

I got some allergy meds into Cinderella.....Mitchell sat and rubbed her for 30 minutes....she was totally into the rubbing....bet it felt good to not have to do all the scratching by herself.  She jumped off his lap after a bit, come over on couch with the other two, and myself....then fell asleep.  Yea!   The pill helped her.

Pharmacy (11-21)

Arrrggggh Living in TMON is going to break me....I swear it is!

First....let's talk gratitude....I am VERY thankful for a nice house to live in. A warm house. We have plenty of food to eat.....nice warm and clean clothes. The pugs are healthy. I thank God on a daily basis for blessing me over and over and in ways I don't always see.

Okay.....now.....I am in American. I know I am. But can you guys tell me of any place that the ONLY pharmacy around is closed....Friday, Saturday and Sunday??? The days the people who work in the mine out here, are off work?? How about a pharmacy that almost always goes to VM and you don't get a call back?? Oh, and they are about an hour or so away from here......so, you really DO need to talk to them to make sure your medications are on order and ready to pick up BEFORE you drive that distance.

I am sure they will pick up the phone sooner or later......they are most likely very busy. I just need to know if they have my medications, and maybe, just maybe they have the courier bring them out to the clinic here in TMON. I suspect I am going to be too late for them to do it today.....so it will be either drive there, or wait till Monday.

==================================

Well now.....while typing this......I got through to a real girl! Whoot whoot! they are going to get them sent on the courier today. I sort of feel a tad bit sad that I was gripping.......can't help it from time to time......TMON is like no place I have ever lived.....ever.

==================================

Talking to Mr Awesome about it last night. I am going to see doc this week for the blood work thing. I am going to ask about getting it mail ordered. They did not send it to the clinic.......which I decided is okay. One of them is supposed to cost $152.00 a month!?!? wow. I am not going to be paying that much.....we will have to find something else.....or well......I am simply not going to pay that much. Harumph.

Brrrrrrr time again

From what I can tell, there is plenty of cold weather going on where a bunch of my friends and family are located. Brrrrr, huh? I am about the biggest whiner in the world when it comes to cold. It is not my friend. Brrrrr.

Anyway, I have one of those strange blessings to share this morning. It is below 30 here, good ol' wind blowing like crazy, of course. Weather dud states it feels like 22. Time to take the pugs out. I get all suited up, long sleeves, jacket, hat and things for my ears. Okay guys....lets go outside and go potty.

Hahahaha. I open the door and they look at me like I have lost my ever loving mind! Ummmm, no....we do not want to go out there, thanks for the offer. I pry them out the door anyway. I do not mess with a leash on Cinderella....the little city girl from the warm city of Santa Ana, is not impressed enough with this weather to consider hauling a** off down the drive. Ha! I am lucky if any of them go more than 5 feet from the door, not that I blame them.

Anyway.....we take a minute and half before everyone is safe and sound on the couch, with the heater on us......and they are snoring.

Where is the blessing in this??? I am looking out my window and we have approximately 10 nice size cows out there....eating away on the alfalfa grass along the house and the fence line. *If* Lori Lou or Cinderella had of known they were there, they both would have chased after them.....So, I am thanking God for this little blessing of not letting the dogs know.

=========================

I am watching the cows go back and forth under my window. So far, the pugs have no idea. I am waiting for the first one to moo. The pugs always freak out when they hear that sound.

Fantastic

PA

Okay....got my doc visit today. I am retaining quite a bit of water.....which contributes to so many of my issues right now it seems. hard to breath....slowly healing wound on my leg.....hard to walk cause my ankles are swollen.....etc...etc.....she is going to put me on water pills......I get blood work next week to see about my thyroid meds....cause they don't seem to do anything for me.....and after 10+ years, you would think they would show up in my blood work....plus it has been 6 months since my last testing, she wants to double check for diabetes......I get to go back on mild anti-depressants (Welbutin)....she thinks I am stressing and depressed cause I really don't want to be in TMON.....so it helps me hold on to the weight....

Oh! She was very happy to hear about me having you guys and this group to help encourage exercise and walking. I even told her about my new mini bike from Carol. She was really happy about that!

Anyway.....here is my update for today.

Pug time

Time for a pug update.

Cinderella has totally accepted living with us. You can tell by looking at her and the way she acts she calls this *home* now.

You may remember, we had a marking in the house issue....I put pampers on her soon as we got home. I called them her bloomers and always made a big deal out of how pretty she was in them. Last weekend, I stopped using them.....she is going outside on a regular basis and taking care of business.....no marking what so ever has happened.

We take her out on a long lead/leash due to her tendency to head out.....and just keep going. Ha. Yesterday, we started allowing her off the leash....for small moments....and keep her walking around with us. It appears to be working. She comes when we call her. I am amazed it happened so quickly. Ohhhhhh she is still going out on the leash, for a safety precaution.....then we give her a little free time.

She likes her kennel. We still have a small moment or two where she will try to go in with Arrt and Lori Lou for bed time....which is to be expected. Once she realized she had her own place.....she seemed to like the idea. I have found her in it during the day just sitting there being all cool.

The pugs have a chair of their own to sit in. Arrt and Lori Lou get on and off it all the time. The other day, Cinderella was making that sad dog whining sound. She wanted up with the other two on the chair. I guess she didn't know if she was allowed up or how to do it with them already in the chair. So, I put her in the middle of them. Not a single problem since then.....all three of them jump up as a group now.

Oh, and she answers to the name Cinderella immediately, now.

Museum (School of Rocks) hehe

What a day. I got invited to see the museum my neighbor friend, Tinker and her family, have put together.

It is in the original school house for this area....relocated, of course. Tiny little school that they all went to. About 7 or 8 itty bitty rooms. The stage is about the size of my kitchen. I sat and could imagine the students and teachers up on it doing plays, reports and such. Loved seeing it! They have all kinds of mining things, old kitchen items....rocks, bottles, books.....you name it......totally interesting. There are tools and big stuff outside.....I am a wimp and didn't want to go out in the cold. I will check them out on a warmer day.

I spent a little bit of time with one of the preacher wives in Hadley. We laughed and chit chatted over to the museum and back. Her son was cracking some kid jokes which was amusing.

Taking her out for a spin

numbers and misc info

 My son gave me the number 5.

If you like or comment I'll give you a number.

1. My son sometimes likes to dance and sing I Am Just a Gigolo. hahahaha (okay Daniel....I simply HAD to post that one.....)

1. My name Terrie is spelled with an "ie" cause it was the in thing at the time I was born. Girls were given guy type names and they were spelled with an "ie" You will find lots of Tommie, Jerrie, Billie, Bobbie....etc. in my generation
2. My name Terrie is because my mom had a neighbor with a dog named Terry when she was a little girl....she liked the name.....and gave it to me.
3. Many of the girls born in my time have Lee or Lynn as their middle name.
4. I grew up being called Terrie....I turned it to Terrie Lynn when I started in AA. There were several Terry people at that time....and I wanted to be different.....and for people to know which one they were talking about when they were talking about me. Plus, it felt like I left my old self behind when I took on the new double name.
5. My mom and dad will only call me Terrie Lynn when they are mad at me. Ha.
*Bonus* I thought it would have been neat to have been named Terra.

===============================================
 My second number......13.....so here are 13 more things about me you may or may not know.

Like or comment on my post and I will give you a number.

1. My favorite number is 44 cause it was my boyfriend's football number....and the only number I ever wore when playing sports. I wore his jersey and number playing powder puff football.
2. 8 is my next favorite number due to being born on May 8th. Everyone in my family knows that *8 is great* so this is not a new fact to them.
3. I haven't had a soda to drink in a little over 20-1/2 years. I stopped for New Year's due to a challenge from my kids.....I was drinking so many Dr. Peppers it is amazing their stock didn't drop in value when I quit!
4. I wanted to be a police officer, like my dad. But, alas, at the time I was growing up....women had to be 5' 8"....I was only 5-5 1/2"
5. When I couldn't be a police office, I seriously thought about joining the Air Force....I wanted to be the stewardess on the President's plane. Made sense to me at the time.
6. I had a pet tarantula named Okie for 8 years. She was brought to me by my FIL at the time....all the way from Oklahoma, in a can.
7. I had a red tail boa for a little over 13 years, named Columbia after my girl on RHPS.
8. I learned to drive in a T-bird with no second gear, at the age of 19.
9. I never missed a day of school....ever.....perfect attendance up till my senior year. I left home, got married, and found out I was pg. I had permission from the school to complete my senior year, but got so darn sick I ended up in the hospital and was not able to go back to school that year.
10. I wanted to name Robbie Lynn, Shasta, after my favorite flower....the Shasta Daisy. To this day she is thankful I didn't. hahahaha You have to remember, my kids were born in my hippy phase of life.
11. I bleached out my hair and went blond.....once long ago. I have the picture around here somewhere. I look awful as a blond.
12. I sang in choir....alto tenor.....up till I hit puberty and my voice totally changed! I miss being able to sing like that.....
13. I took my GED test at the age of 25. I never studied cause you didn't do it that way back then. You simply signed up, took the test, and either passed or failed. If you failed, you waited a certain amount of time and tried again. Of course, I passed. <wink>

==================================================
My friend John gave me the number 17......
If you want to play along....like or comment on this post.....and I will give you a number. If you don't want to play or have already done this several times....let me know and I will let you slide....this time.

1. I walked to elementary school. No one worried about a girl walking. And I took my own lunch from home in a cool lunch kit.
2. I was able to volunteer and work with the blind kids in our elementary school. Brenda was the first blind person I had contact with. She showed me the machine she used to print the dots for her homework. We were good friends till we moved away just before junior high started.
3. I was the pitcher for my softball team in elementary school....until a hit right straight back at me got me in the face.....scared the heck out of me!
4. When I was in elementary school, we had oil heater things mounted on the wall under the windows. I loved sitting there in winter....and sneakily melt my crayons on them.
5. I was the one who hand drew maps for geography class lessons. My teachers loved my artist side.....remember this is back before the internet, and computers, and copiers. The copies of the maps were made on these machines with a green paper, and smelled really good when printing them. Ha.
6. My 5th grade teacher had me grade most of the tests, keep the grades in a hand written book....and fill out the report cards for the whole class.
7. I also would do the bulletin boards in most of the classes all over the school. Hand cutting out those wavy edges to go around the boards and all the letters.
8. I learned to play chess in the 6th grade, at lunch, watching some of the chess team guys practice.
9. My very first nick name in Junior High was Tree. Ha. I had this necklace of a tree with the word on it....people thought it sounded like *Terrie* so they called me Tree.
10. I grew up with three tv stations, NBC, CBS, ABC and two UHF stations. I watched Captain Kangaroo iand Cadet Don n the morning before school.....and Kiterick, after school.
11. I would chase and catch chickens, by their legs, not their tails.....wring their necks, pluck them for dinner....at the early age of 7. You didn't pay the store for something you could do yourself.
12. I love to go crabbing off the jetties in Galvestion....although I will not hang out while you cook them....nor will I eat crab.
13. I am a fishing nut....I could do it for days....alas, Mr Awesome doesn't like fishing so I have only gone once or twice in all the years we have been together. I kind of miss it. I do/did cook what I catch......but now a days would be happy to catch and release.
14. I will pull over anytime I see a turtle in the road.....move it to the other side so it will be safe.
15. The San Jacinto Monument is my most favorite place in the world. I want my ashes scattered there when it is time for me not to need this body any more.
16. I rescued a big huge bullfrog from biology class in the 10th grade. They had it for dissection. I knew there was nothing to be done about the already preserved frogs we had..... I did my first official protest over that frog! I took it and refused to let them have it back if they were going to kill it. It was finally approved for me to take it home...which I did.....and it lived a nice long life in our duck pond. And....I also refused to dissect *any* of the frogs in that class.....and got permission to not do it......although I did have to take the test.
17. I liked to go crawdad hunting in the ditches as a kid. Yes, we had ditches. Crawdads can be quite feisty little critters.

11-14 BINGO

FB thing from Jay

Photo: Happy Counting Day!

Library

I went back to the library today.....and told the girl at the desk, I was sure it was a government and library conspiracy to be closed for a holiday on the day my movies were due back. I had my dollar out to pay my fine.

The girl had no sense of humor. Ha! She simply said, the computer knows it was a holiday....you don't owe anything. To which I replied....so my self-righteous attitude was totally wasted?? I worked hard on it. At this she did smile.

So, I used the dollar to buy a paw and put the pugs name on it in memory of Dollie Mae. The money from the paws goes to buy things needed for the animal shelter. A dollar well spent.

Hawk

I just found these while out with the pugs. They are orange in color. Maybe they are off my hawk I call Alan? I didn't find anything but these feathers. So hopefully it is alive and only lost them in a bird fight somehow.

Okay....update....I did the searches and it is a red tail hawk....and apparently it is illegal to own them. They are protected birds.....Native Americans are allowed to have them....I am Cherokee in my background....Great Grandparents....wonder if that will count?? I am being serious. I called and left a message with the Nevada nature society to see what I need to do to keep them.....I would love to put in a frame or scrap book. If not.....then how the heck or what the heck am I supposed to do with them?? More will be revealed.

==============================================

Update on the hawk feathers.....I have to destroy them. There is not a form or anything to be filled out in order to keep them. Sad. Such pretty feathers. She did say it was okay to take pictures and keep those.....so I will. I told her I knew we had the hawk cause I named him Alan after Hawkeye on MASH. She chuckled. I also told her I did not locate any injured bird.....of course, we all know, if the bird went down....the coyotes would have taken care of any thing on the ground.

At least this is something interesting that happened in TMON to be talked about in the future.

Messy.......nope

Photo: This is the BEST justification for messiness I've ever read. :)

I see you

Did you pay the electic bill??? hehehe

Wow. Sometime around 3-ish in the morning....our electricity went out. I kind of expect it out here in TMON....yet, it wasn't snowing or anything. I have yet to get gossip of what went out where.....no doubt it was a transformer, of course.

Anyway...I just got a text the general store is closed till further notice. Seems the generator kicked in at the power outage...and blew out all the lights and plugs and stuff. Mercy me. I asked and thank goodness, the frozen food cases appear to be working fine. I am glad they are not going to lose all the food, dairy and such.

The camera systems that Mr Awesome installed worked properly till their back up battery died. Yea. He did a good job with them.

This is our only store with real food closer than an hour away. Pray they get it all fixed quickly. Many families depend on it for their food.

==============================

For the record....I noticed it about 3:30.....wandered around in the dark....found his cell phone....located mine which has the good flashlight app......got a lighter and waited till time to get him up for work. The lighter was for our oil lamp. I am going to get at least two more oil lamps if and when I get a chance. I like them......they do much better than flashlights when it comes to putting out enough light to see around the room.

RL

Robbie Lynn called me tonight.  For no reason.  Just to talk.  I made her laugh.  She asked how living in TMON was.....I told her it sucks.  bwahahahaha   She is enjoying her new position.  Got to do crafty things at work cause they found out she is creative.  :)    I was really nice to hear her voice.

Stuff

Found a possible job for MG last night.  UT in Austin.  My heart wants it very much so we can get the heck out of here.   But you know.....when you want it too much....it probably is not the way God is going to take me.

I am frustrated today.....in a low mood.  Probably cause the weather is weird....it is warm....no bad weather in site....but my head hurts anyway.

Even if he were to get the job....we do not have money to move.  We never have the money to move when it is time to move.  HA!   I am frustrated cause if I had not of gone to Texas and he had not needed to come bring it all back out here....we would have been able to save several thousand dollars.....we *should* have at least $10-12 thousand saved by now.....alas we don't.  Where did I go wrong??

Cinderella is going bloomerless today......maybe she won't need them anymore??  She is real good about waiting to get them on.  She looks so cute.  She is cute.....

11-07 Gratitude

Day 7: experience
 I made the paper dolls in all kinds of colors...then hole punched little puzzle pieces to put on the word me....this is to show that each person adds a little piece of themselves with me. I put two little holes also...to show that some people take a piece with them when they leave, which is a hole that someone else will fill. I also did not fill the whole word "me" up to show that there is room for all the people I am going to meet in the future. No stamping or ink stuff today.
  I don't have three for today......I am simply going to say I am grateful for absolutely everyone!!

11-06 Gratitude

1.  Socks.  :)   I really do not do well with cold feet.  If my feet are warm...then the rest of me thinks it is warm too.  I especially like Mitchell's socks....hehehe

2.  Dancing.....my sneaky way of getting a wee bit of exercise in my life right now

3.  The washer and dryer.  Seems funny to be thankful for those, I guess.  Here in TMON tho....it makes life so much easier.  I have no idea what it would be like to have to take everything over to Hadley to wash.  There are only the two of us....but I am always doing a load of something, it seems.  :)

11-05 Gratitude

Day 5 : Gratitude

* The internet. Without it, it would be kind of lonely here in TMON. I appreciate this modern way of keeping up with family and friends.

* Scrap book layouts ~ doing the gratitude journal with a group in scrapbook form. Makes me look at it in a different way, not just words but with pictures and creative colors and stuff.

* Cinderella. She came to us with a few issues....most have worked themselves out already. She trusts me. She will never take the place of Dollie Mae, of course......she brings her own personality to the grumble. She is a talker.....it is cute when she has something to say.

Day 5~Community I took some of my little round stamp pads, made a circle and gently pulled them done the page for a random design. I wrote on regular ol' line paper then used staples to add them to white card stock. Used the same ink pad to do the edges of the card stock. I tried drawing a female face like some of you guys have been doing....colored the hair with Stampin' Up pencils/water. Then used a hole punch to make the spots on the letters. Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ tlg

11-04 Gratitude

Day 4 - gratitude

+ The library - going to get a recorded book today or maybe a movie or two.
+ Well water - it is straight from the ground,no going through processing plant or systems and colder than anything I have ever had anywhere...ever!
+ Little heaters - we don't use the propane here to heat the house. People in the area say they pay $500 or so a month for propane.....our little room heaters get the job done.....we only need to heat the area we are in. They work great.

Day 4 ~ Bucket List. I made the bucket out of my foam plate from my sandwiches. ...good ol' recycling. I colored the little roses on the doily and added green leaves just to highlight them. Hehe Most of what I want to do at this time of my life is go on trips. I have long term friends in other countries I have never met face to face. I hope to be able to do it. Mario ??

This is what happens when you find a handful of G=kid's Legos in the bottom of a box. No idea how I ended up with them. Mr Awesome found them and the kid within showed up. Ha!

If I close an eye and lean my head just right....I can see Doctor Who at his console in the TARDIS.

Thank you Daniel for Mario.

Lego man's head hit the floor. Cinderella was all over him. Bwahahaha. Mr Awesome saved him after a big battle. Cinderella gave up...probably cause she decided it didn't taste all that good anyway.

Rambling....as usual

Lori Lou just never stops being a source of amusement.....she springs up and chases a dust devil that went across our drive way.......growled and barked at it and everything. Then, she went back and stared at the drive way......we suspect she thought a vehicle was coming in the yard because of the dust......she was probably wondering where the vehicle went.
======================
 Watching nature today (11-03)........the clouds are backing up on the other side of the mountain.....not a big deal, they do it all the time, right? On the way back home from the store I noticed what was happening from a different angle........every so often, they will spill over the mounting in long lines.....and continue on their way....which means there were lines after lines of clouds......kind of like a pattern painted on the sky.
=======================

I just spent some time crocheting a hat pattern....and it came out looking like...well....not nice looking at all. I wonder why that happens?? Basic pattern, nothing fancy.....tore it out.....will start fresh tomorrow. What bugs me the most is the time I feel I wasted....not sure what I would have done with it....but I don't like that is wasn't used in a profitable manner.

Unicorn

First time I made a cap other than the regular beanie. It is for a friend's little girl....they live in Florida. Kind of tickles me that it gets cold enough in Florida to be able to use a cap.

~Crochet
~Extra Hour  (daylight savings time kicked in)

Used the color block technique
The turtle is in honor of Annie who died since we moved here....she was at least 18 years old.  The blue bird is to represent all the birds I watch around this place, plus it is the state bird.  The gnome is just to keep the layout from being a sad one.

11-02

Day 2 ~ Gratitude
* The daughter and Son1 are both doing good at their jobs. Makes me content to know I have no need to be concerned for them in that area.
* Finn......the newest baby born to family/friends. Birth just always makes me smile. I know God is still showing there is great hope for humanity.
* The windows in my house. Might be a silly thing.....but I have always enjoyed taking time to sit and watch the world go by. See what nature is up to out there. Windows bring me pleasure.

Attached is my page for Day 1 of the scrapping group. If anyone is interested in joining the scrap group....let me know....I will send you the info......I found out I did the challenge from last year....oops. I still like it. We had to use a color we don't like or don't use much. I hardly ever have a need for browns or orange....so I went with it. This is the mountain out back, and the star I saw.....of course, I don't actually have a tree in my yard.....but I liked making an abstract tree. Now....to see what I can get into for day 2.

11-01

Day 1 ~ Gratitude
* Acceptance....accepting I am right where I am supposed to be, even if I don't want to be here.....I want to be somewhere else.
* Willingness......willing to start changing the way I look at things,how I have been dealing with things....one small thing at a time.....
* Gratitude.....grateful for friends and family who are going to be doing the 30 day challenge with me in several different ways and formats.

This is going to be a great month for growth. Oh, and change too. Never care much for change.....yet, for me, at this time in my life....change is becoming necessary. More will be revealed.

11-01 Finn!!!

I think I became a 1/2 Grammie today. My g-girl2 who lives in New York has a new half brother. Finn was born today. Cute little guy.....sweetest baby face. So I am joking with them....that I think I am a 1/2 Grammie some how. God bless the new little guy and thank you for getting him here safe and sound.

 1:18pm to be exact. At 5lbs, 14oz.
