Mr Awesome is even more awesome now

Waiting for Mr Awesome and dentist. Appointment was for 10:30. Now 12:30 and they are finally getting him started. Wouldn't be a problem if we lived in this city. Have to bring the pugs cause it is too far away to leave them home....they would be in the house for 8-10 hours! Too cold and not good to leave them outside this time of year. So we are sitting just outside of,town patiently waiting. Can you hear them snoring? BWAHAHAHAHA

========

 All done in Fallon and the dentist. Home eating soft stuff for dinner, of course. Then we will kick back and watch some tv.....me crocheting.

========

He went to take a nap......not sure if he will get up again or not.  I am glad he is getting the sleep.  The body will heal better with down time sleeping.

========

He made it about two hours.  Looks better and sounds pretty good.  Thank you God.  :)

Here kitty kitty kitty........

So, dear friends....who wants to be the one to tell Ms Tuna and Wheeler that they will start wearing collars tomorrow? Any brave souls out there?? Anyone? Anyone?

Wheeler wore one for a long time....I haven't worried about it here tho. Now that we are moving in the g=kids, I want them to have tags with their name and phone number on it.....just in case they manage to slip out the door.

I shall dig out my chain mail and heavy armor.....that should be enough to keep me safe while installing said collars, ya think?

Honey, I love you

(copied from my FB page)

I have started using honey in my hot teas instead of the artificial sweeteners. Have been enjoying it, of course. So, I tried honey in my coffee....ohhhhhh it is so good! Why haven't I done this sooner? :)

Made some banana bread mom sent us for Christmas. Goes really darn good with the coffee. Happy time.

  • Marji  So much better for you!!
  • Ellen I have a "sugar free" banana bread recipe pinned you should try. It's amazing!
  • Joshua  It gets even better when you start finding different kinds of honey. It can taste different depending on the plants in the area of the bees, the weather and a whole other slew of things It's a fun thing to experiment with... and honeycomb is great for various things as well...
  • Jennifer Dude, warm up the banana bread in the microwave and drizzle honey on it. Best snack ever with a good mug of tea.
  • Turtle  ...and the honey boosts your immune system. (N.B. It's best if you can get it from local farms, as the pollen is collected from local plants and it provides near-immunity to mucus infection i.e. allergies to local plants.)
  • Stephanie  Honey on a Popyes biscuit - yumm
  • Turtle  When I was a teen, Kentucky Fried Chicken was a new "thing", and packets of honey were given with their chicken as a "dip". Been addicted to honey & chicken ever since LOL.
  • Joshua  We always saved the biscuits from KFC for last, a packet of their weird squeezable butter, a packet of honey and a few seconds in the microwave and even a KFC biscuit is delicious
  • Bird Eggs I prefer sorghum & peanut butter on hot buttered biscuits..
  • Terrie Lynn BlueButterfly Gelman The biscuit talk made me hungry again. Ha. I remember when we would get honey with the comb in the bottle....dad would bring it home. Mom would give us a spoon of it every few days. Delicious.

Pop Tarts Anyone?

There is this ruckus going on in the pantry. The pugs are keeping an eye in that direction.....out comes the man.....with this. He asks, do you know anyone else who has their own poptart display??

I had no idea the box would open up this way.

THAT is why he is Mr. Awesome.....cause...No.....no I don't know anyone else. bwahahahaha.

SMH

Anyone want a cat....or two? <rolling my eyes and shaking my head>

Since being here.....Wheeler has apparently lost any interest in being the good kitty he was. He runs from clawing this to tearing into the garbage to being on top of the table.....to clawing on something else. And he does these things looking at me the whole time....then prissily runs off when I get up to stop him. Man oh man.

Ms Tuna is obviously not going to claim down enough to be able to let me pet and enjoy her. The most attention I can give her is in the morning when I set up their kitty food. She lives in hugging the wall, behind everything stealth mode. On top of the table, digging in the trash, like Wheeler (of course, she did this as a feral kitty, which is where he probably learned it). She is a good girl and uses the scratching post tho.

I am very patient with animals.....but they are about to get the best of me. And now, they are going back into a big huge crate to head to Texas.....and move in with the g=kids. THIS should be quite a great experience for them!

Who knew??

I want to grow

Veggies are interesting.

:(

Almost time to go
So many boxes again
I will miss him so

To "t' or not to "t"

Finally breaking down and using Mitchell's laptop till my keyboard gets here. He has tried to fix the "t" key several ways and nothing works. I was actually typing by using the <control v> and pasting a "t". Talking about an interesting way to work and type. hahaha

Time Line Established

Okay.....getting ready to get real around here.   We will get the suv to the shop to make sure it will be ready for the long drive, on Monday.   Thursday we go to Fallon for Mitchell, then pick up the rental trailer.  Load up what ever will be going with me on this trip.....and I should be heading out most likely on Monday morning, March 4 th.  Have a time line to work with now.....

Tomorrow....we pack up my scrap room, totally.  1. Goes into storage here for a later trip; 2. Goes with me to store in Texas right at first; 3. Everything I have to have as soon as I get there.  Like clothes.  :)  Only thing I plan to leave unpacked is yarn to crochet with for the next week.  Oh and some books.  Gonna do some reading. :)

Ramble time....again

1. I have a new adopt a soldier.  Mailed my first letter to him today.  A PFC from New York.
2. Can 't wait for my new keyboard.  Totally wore out the current one.  The "T" key is screwed up for sure.
3. Mitchell shared he is getting a great bonus from work.  Yea for him.  He sure deserves it.
4.  Totally trashed out my room and parts of the house trying to figure out how/what to pack to take to Texas with me.
5. Wish I could afford a uhaul truck and trailer.  Kind of scared to take the Rob Hob suv.  Maybe I can convince Mitchell to get it into a shop to be checked out and fixed.
6. Wheeler is getting much better with not throwing up hair balls.  My combing and the medication seems to be helping him.  I am glad cause he is so scary as skinny as he really is.  Today I got him to let me comb a huge mass of fluff off his tail.  I might not have a hairy fluffy cat after I get all of this done.  Ha.
7. Mailed my two swaps off.
8. Paid for the Van Gogh painting class.  Paid for the wrong location yesterday.  They will refund....got it right today.  Taking Daniel with me.
9. I feel sad about leaving Mitchell here and me planning on retreats and classes and eating out and such.  Am I doing the right thing??
10. Watched Doctor Who where Rose leaves the show. Yes, cried....just a bit....again.
11. Mailed Sue her pay it forward gift.....made her some cards to use.  She is a fan of my cards. :)
12. 6 shapes done on the afghan I am doing with the group.

Green Rose

Gonna give it a try.  Day two....nothing much happening, yet.

Ah yes, snow.....again

Got up to our first official snow drift. I will get a picture when the sun comes up. Had to take the pugs out the back door to find a spot for them. Not that much snow fell as far as I can tell, just the wind has been blowing and it backed up against the front part of the house. Skunk Rock told me he has no intention of getting out there with a ruler to measure. <snicker>

It made a drift against the car too. The driver's side, of course, since that is the side Mr. Awesome needed to get in. hahaha No, not laughing at Mr. Awesome, laughing at Murphy's Law.

Strawberry stink pretty

I had some really stinky pugs. I mean *real* stinky. So, I give them all a nice bath with some strawberry bath wash. Know what I have now??? Strawberry, wet dog, stinky smell. Oh yeal, this is *much* better. bwahahahaha It will be okay when they completely dry.

I enjoy giving them a bath, actually. It makes me feel good to know all the dirt is off and that they feel better. Of course, trying to get them in the shower to get started is almost like WW III. They sit there with their tail droopy and their shoulders dropped. OMG You would think I had come up with the worst form of torture for a pug.

They get so excited and run around like little puppies when I am all done.

Just a day

Nice enough outside today....we finally got a chance to clean out both vehicles.  They were dusty and dirty, trust me.   Couldn't wash them tho.....the hose had ice frozen in it.  hahahaha

Knees

Today is the two year mark on my knee replacements.  I love them.  Thank you God for letting me have them.  Thank you, God.

V-Day this and that

I dropped the little sizzix sidekick on my foot while packing boxes in the closet. Now, it is not that big....yet I managed to drop it on a pointed side, I guess....got a little cut....and a knot on the top of my foot. Nothing major....it's just, I swear, I am such a klutz at times.
================================================
We went to play bingo tonight. Nope, neither of us won. Nice to go tho.

It is 11:00 here at the Capital of the Middle of Nowhere. No snow. No rain. No earth shaking. No gale winds blowing. No ice or freeze going on. I have water. The power is on. No cows anywhere around. It is kind or pretty outside with blue and sunny stuff happening.

There must be something wrong, cause it is actually, apparently, a normal day around here.

What's up with that??? hahahahaha

Nevada Earthquake today.

I wrote these on FB....going to copy and past over here to the blog:

I think we might have just had an earthquake??? My whole house undulated like from an earthquake for several moments......not the little shaking that happens when they blow things at the mine. I wonder......
============================
And yes, for the record....I have been through earthquakes before....that is why I am wondering. hummmmmm no phone service or connection right now.....it has been like that off and on all day, tho.
============================
*******I'M RIGHT I'M RIGHT I'M RIGHT******* I JUST CHECKED THE NET.....WE HAD A 5.3 EARTHQUAKE........SEE I AM A GOOD WEATHER MAN AND EARTHQUAKE SPECIALIST......SKUNK ROCK SAYS SO TOO*********
============================
Daniel Money Dang, Mom! Are you sure you don't want to stay living there? You have gotten some pretty awesome story experiences from the short time you've been there. To make Houston as exciting you'll have to nickname the kids "Blizzard", "Quake" and "Random Cows." I'll let you decide who is who.

M 5.2 Earthquake, Nevada

============================
This area of the state really doesn't like me being here. Ha. This is maybe 20 miles from us. First we end up in the minus double didget weather for almost two weeks, frozen water pipes for about that long and now the state is trying to shake me out now. Ha.
============================
 The only thing that hasn't happened is a tornado. They swear that they have never ever ever EVER had one here......yet...... bwahahahahaha
============================
Okay.....little tidbit of info to go with my earthquake story. It happened about two minutes before the mine really did set off one of it's blast. When I had sent Mitchell an IM asking if we had an earthquake.....he thought I was joking. I told him I would never joke about an earthquake. :)
============================
I finally got an email to mom.....couldn't get through, ATT has a tower out....been out all day. <sheesh> I tell her about the earthquake.....her response?? "How weird, I was just reading a book about people dealing with an earthquake!" Gotta love my mom.

Grammie Book Mobile

107 so far. I just boxed up the books I picked up from the library. This is the current count of the books I am taking to the g=kids. I have more in the back of the suv. Remember me posting that I can get four bags of books from the library for a dollar? This some of the books. :) I am basically taking them a small library of their own to have at home. I found all kinds of things.....shhhhhh don't tell them....some are even the educational type about dinosaurs and such. hehehe
================================================
145....NEW count on the g=kids books. I think I might have more around here, not sure tho. I am going to count the ones I got for "me" next. :)

Catbath adventure

hahahahahaahahahaha hohohohohohoh OMG OMG It is too funny!

The guys are here fixing the floor in the catbath. They went outside for whatever reason. Came back in to start up.......

HUGE RUCKUS.......sounds like a herd of buffalo comes running from the catbath!!! Wheeler had gone in to see what they were doing. He was down in the hole where the toilet would be.......

They scared him.....he scared them......they are laughing so hard not sure they can go back to work yet! hahahaha

I love my critters. Never, ever boring around here.
 =================================================================
They just left to go somewhere for something, and carefully "closed" the door this time. I started laughing again. I told the head guy that they made my day! He laughed and said it made theirs too.....they have never had anything like this happen before. The helper guy, this is his first day working for this company......bet he never forgets this particular job, huh?

Fernando

Some daily rambles

I am taking photos out of one of those old magnetic type albums. I am lucky to get them out....they are from 93-94.

A ruckus is going on in the catbath. The door to the room is open about 8 inches.....all of a sudden, through the space, out flies a little orange cat mouse toy ....... I watch.

Nothing.....nothing.....nothing.....then slowly a white paw comes out..... from under the door. A nail snags the mouse and slowly pulls it back. The ruckus starts back up. Yes, Tuna is happy today.
=================================================================
Going to cook boneless pork ribs tonight.  They are for Mitchell to take to work tomorrow.  Pot luck for Fat Tuesday.
=================================================================
Mail Trinity a card with a cow on it.  He got a kick out of the man taking a picture of the cow when I told him.  The card is to give him a chuckle.

Snowing? Why?

It is snowing. Fluffy snow. Nothing like friends and family got over on the other side of the states. Thank goodness! The interesting part?? No mention of it in the weather dude report. I want to give myself credit for saying it was going to snow....and apparently, "I" am much better at this than weather dude. Maybe I should apply for his job??

Cooper's kicks

Jessica sent a picture of Cooper and his new shoes.  yes, they are a tad bit too big.  :)  He will grow into them.  I am glad I gave it a try.  I love this little guy.  Can't wait till I can hug and hold him.

Scissors

I forgot to add this....I posted about this on FB....wanted to put it on this blog too.

Thought I would share what a "crafty" husband I have. We were watching one of those shows about how they make things. He really gets a kick out of these shows. We watch them all the time. They stated telling about how scissors are made. They flashed the word Fiskars. Out of nowhere comes....."cool, that is the brand of scissors you have and like the most, isn't it?" Knock me over with a feather! Ha! I know he likes to buy me fun things to use for my crafting. He is well trained in Sizzix and Cricut, I just had no idea he paid attention to the brand name of things....such as my scissors. I love this man. I think I will keep me a bit longer.

264 ??

We no longer have a scale in the house. At the store....there was one...so I gave it a try. Came in at 264.....264! That is with clothes and shoes on! I was 309-ish when I got to Nevada. I am guessing that the exercise, more walking for the WAT and just basically changing the type of food, and when I eat is paying off.....and I didn't know it. :)

Snort

Let me introduce you to "Snort". He was at the store today....on sale for $1.99. He is a Taurus born on 05-15-1995. Mitchell found him....we were laughing about him and looking at all the other babies. Something about him spoke to me. So, Snort is my new companion in my car. I anticipate many great adventures with him as a travel partner. <smile>

Wheeler

I started using the dog brush on Wheeler last night. OMG.......there is so much hair coming off that poor kitty cat.  No wonder he coughs up huge hair balls!   I had to chaise him down to get him to let me do it today....but once I started he liked it.  I think.  I am going to keep doing it till hardly anything comes off.  Hopefully this will help him.   I keep giving him the hair ball gummy paste every three days or so.  I would love to see this guy get healthy.  I had no idea he was needing this brushing.  My poor kitty.

Red for Cooper

Asked Mitchell to get a picture of me making the red booties for Cooper.
