Yesterday - Santa

I forgot to post......yesterday we went all the way to Hadley. The little town with the store, post office and library.

Had to go.....Santa was at the library. Whoot Whoot. Yes, I had my picture with him again this year. They gave us a special red ornament with the year on it, and reindeer antlers. Oh boy, love the antlers. hehehe

I also received a cute penguin wearing a Santa hat. I shall take it with me to see the G=kids for Christmas. Going to have to give it a name tho. I am considering 1. Hadley (the little town); 2. Booker (came from the library) or 3. Manley (the road we live on)

TARDIS scout patch

Photo: The internet has opened a huge world to make friends through email, online groups, FB, etc. I am sure you guys know what I mean.

Well, I do some verification of gardens on Fairyland. I met a new lady by doing this. Her name is Debbie M.

Debbie is with a scout troop over in the UK. Her girls did a thing with girls from another troop that was Doctor Who related. When she saw the badge the girls were going to receive....she was kind enough to get one for me because she knows how much I like the show.

I am honored to have this "fantastic" badge. I am blessed to make such cool friends all over the world. :)The internet has opened a huge world to make friends through email, online groups, FB, etc. I am sure you guys know what I mean.

I have a Christmas Tree!!! hahahahaha

Cracker?

Lori Lou is a cracker eating dog. Always has been. I was eating some crackers with cheese and pickles....so of course Lori Lou comes and asks for a cracker. She takes it and enjoys it with all the happiness a pug can have when eating something the love.

Now insert Cinderella. She observes Lori Lou ask for the cracker and then eating it. I asked her if she wants a cracker? Of course I do....if Lori Lou is going to eat something....so do I.

Sniff, sniff....lick. Gingerly take the cracker, touching as little of it as you can. Lay it in front of you, between your paws.....look back up at the human.....look back at Lori Lou.....<sigh>.....proceed to eat the cracker. Making sure everyone knows what a trouper you are for eating the disgusting thing.

Hey Lori Lou, want another one, I ask. Sure! She takes it with glee.
Hey Cinderella, want another one, I ask. Ha! Nope, Not even if hell freezes over!

Love my dogs.

12-14

Remember I put out the old turkey bones, out back, thinking the feral kitties would be glad to have them?? Yeal, and the magpies took off with them.

Remember I put out bread in the front for the birds? Guess who shows up and eats the bread? Yelp, the kitties.

Weird critters. hahahaha

12-13 Look what he brought me :)

Photo: Mr Awesome brought me this pretty hanging plate today. Love my man

12-13 Rub my belly....now......

Photo: How the heck am I supposed to get anything done?? Lori Lou insists that I rub her belly. If I stop, she will pet me with her paw. If she thinks I am ignoring her....she uses both paws and gives me that sad pug face she has perfected over the years. Ha! Nooooo, she isn't spoiled one little bit. She is a pug and this is her right in life....belly rubs on demand. hahahahaHow the heck am I supposed to get anything done?? Lori Lou insists that I rub her belly. 12-13 Door Stop (Dee) joins our family

Skunk Rock would like to introduce his new buddy. Mr Awesome brought her home yesterday. We are pretty sure it is a girl cause of the beautiful vein of quartz running through the middle. We call her "Door Stop" Dee for short. As you can see, she is ready for the holidays just like Skunk Rock.Photo: Skunk Rock would like to introduce his new buddy. 12-12 Silly puggers

What in the world got into the pugs tonight?? Got back from Bingo and all three of them were running around the house like they were on a race track! It was quite amusing.

Even Arrt was involved....each of them grabbed a toy and fussed with it, each other and us! Arrt is the low energy pug of this family, so for him to play like that with us was great! Cinderella bounces....literally bounces when she plays.

Lori Lou has made it her mission to take each toy Cinderella picks out away from her. Cinderella loves it and they can go for several minutes. Lori Lou is not showing aggression, so it seems to be a game for her.

I guess this all stems from not being able to go outside and run around like we did before it got cold. They had some extra energy and shared it with us.

12-11

What's on my mind, FB is asking? Hummmmmm

Mr Awesome come home for lunch and I had him a hot meal waiting. I love surprising him that way.

I am working on the afghan for a friend....the one I started back in March....bout time I get it all worked out.....

It is beautiful outside. Cold, of course.....but the sun is shining and the pugs have enjoyed being able to go out without their feet getting all frosty.

What's on my mind??? How blessed I am. What a good life I have.

12-10

I put on layers of clothes and ventured out this morning....early.....to go to the clinic. You know what?? I wasn't feeling cold?? what I mean is, it was about 9, according to the car, and it didn't feel like it at all. I took off the big coat and went around with just a hoodie. Maybe I have become acclimated to the colder weather, at last?? For the record, there is no wind what so ever. (thank you God for that!) We also have the most beautiful warm sun going on.

12-08 Tophat

The top hat I made for Handsome Dude (son1). He asked for goth/steam punk. Sammie suggested the green hat band color. I made it with fuzzy green. I think it is a fun hat. Hope he has a good time with it. I suspect I will be seeing it in youtube videos.

Moo

Oh too funny! I just watched them rounding up a cow in the alfalfa field, riding a quad and using their dog. The cow was not happy with either of them. It was charging at them and fussing the whole time. They got it safely where they wanted, eventually. Gotta love this TMON stuff.

Vet visit (11-20)

Cinderella and I finally got to the vet here in TMON. She acted like a fool.....wanted to check out every dog coming in the door....and of course I wouldn't let her. She made others laugh with how excited she was to see them.

Seems I was pretty spot on with what I thought. She is probably between 4-5 years old. Her front legs, they were not broken in an accident somewhere in her life. She was born extremely bow-legged. I told him her legs remind me of a wiener dog's front legs....they are the same shape and turn like in the same way a wiener dog's do. She is probably not spaded. No scar is easy to see.... So she is set to be done in December. Now she has all of her shots. Yea. Far as the vet could tell, she is in excellent health. Yea.

==================================

Later that night she was scratching non-stop.  All over her body, including her ears.  I told Mitchell I think she is having an allergic reaction to one of the shots.    There is no one to call about it out here in TMON....so I call my vet tech friend Susanne.  She confirmed it is possible to be allergic to one of the shots.

I got some allergy meds into Cinderella.....Mitchell sat and rubbed her for 30 minutes....she was totally into the rubbing....bet it felt good to not have to do all the scratching by herself.  She jumped off his lap after a bit, come over on couch with the other two, and myself....then fell asleep.  Yea!   The pill helped her.

Pharmacy (11-21)

Arrrggggh Living in TMON is going to break me....I swear it is!

First....let's talk gratitude....I am VERY thankful for a nice house to live in. A warm house. We have plenty of food to eat.....nice warm and clean clothes. The pugs are healthy. I thank God on a daily basis for blessing me over and over and in ways I don't always see.

Okay.....now.....I am in American. I know I am. But can you guys tell me of any place that the ONLY pharmacy around is closed....Friday, Saturday and Sunday??? The days the people who work in the mine out here, are off work?? How about a pharmacy that almost always goes to VM and you don't get a call back?? Oh, and they are about an hour or so away from here......so, you really DO need to talk to them to make sure your medications are on order and ready to pick up BEFORE you drive that distance.

I am sure they will pick up the phone sooner or later......they are most likely very busy. I just need to know if they have my medications, and maybe, just maybe they have the courier bring them out to the clinic here in TMON. I suspect I am going to be too late for them to do it today.....so it will be either drive there, or wait till Monday.

==================================

Well now.....while typing this......I got through to a real girl! Whoot whoot! they are going to get them sent on the courier today. I sort of feel a tad bit sad that I was gripping.......can't help it from time to time......TMON is like no place I have ever lived.....ever.

==================================

Talking to Mr Awesome about it last night. I am going to see doc this week for the blood work thing. I am going to ask about getting it mail ordered. They did not send it to the clinic.......which I decided is okay. One of them is supposed to cost $152.00 a month!?!? wow. I am not going to be paying that much.....we will have to find something else.....or well......I am simply not going to pay that much. Harumph.

Brrrrrrr time again

From what I can tell, there is plenty of cold weather going on where a bunch of my friends and family are located. Brrrrr, huh? I am about the biggest whiner in the world when it comes to cold. It is not my friend. Brrrrr.

Anyway, I have one of those strange blessings to share this morning. It is below 30 here, good ol' wind blowing like crazy, of course. Weather dud states it feels like 22. Time to take the pugs out. I get all suited up, long sleeves, jacket, hat and things for my ears. Okay guys....lets go outside and go potty.

Hahahaha. I open the door and they look at me like I have lost my ever loving mind! Ummmm, no....we do not want to go out there, thanks for the offer. I pry them out the door anyway. I do not mess with a leash on Cinderella....the little city girl from the warm city of Santa Ana, is not impressed enough with this weather to consider hauling a** off down the drive. Ha! I am lucky if any of them go more than 5 feet from the door, not that I blame them.

Anyway.....we take a minute and half before everyone is safe and sound on the couch, with the heater on us......and they are snoring.

Where is the blessing in this??? I am looking out my window and we have approximately 10 nice size cows out there....eating away on the alfalfa grass along the house and the fence line. *If* Lori Lou or Cinderella had of known they were there, they both would have chased after them.....So, I am thanking God for this little blessing of not letting the dogs know.

=========================

I am watching the cows go back and forth under my window. So far, the pugs have no idea. I am waiting for the first one to moo. The pugs always freak out when they hear that sound.

Fantastic

PA

Okay....got my doc visit today. I am retaining quite a bit of water.....which contributes to so many of my issues right now it seems. hard to breath....slowly healing wound on my leg.....hard to walk cause my ankles are swollen.....etc...etc.....she is going to put me on water pills......I get blood work next week to see about my thyroid meds....cause they don't seem to do anything for me.....and after 10+ years, you would think they would show up in my blood work....plus it has been 6 months since my last testing, she wants to double check for diabetes......I get to go back on mild anti-depressants (Welbutin)....she thinks I am stressing and depressed cause I really don't want to be in TMON.....so it helps me hold on to the weight....

Oh! She was very happy to hear about me having you guys and this group to help encourage exercise and walking. I even told her about my new mini bike from Carol. She was really happy about that!

Anyway.....here is my update for today.

Pug time

Time for a pug update.

Cinderella has totally accepted living with us. You can tell by looking at her and the way she acts she calls this *home* now.

You may remember, we had a marking in the house issue....I put pampers on her soon as we got home. I called them her bloomers and always made a big deal out of how pretty she was in them. Last weekend, I stopped using them.....she is going outside on a regular basis and taking care of business.....no marking what so ever has happened.

We take her out on a long lead/leash due to her tendency to head out.....and just keep going. Ha. Yesterday, we started allowing her off the leash....for small moments....and keep her walking around with us. It appears to be working. She comes when we call her. I am amazed it happened so quickly. Ohhhhhh she is still going out on the leash, for a safety precaution.....then we give her a little free time.

She likes her kennel. We still have a small moment or two where she will try to go in with Arrt and Lori Lou for bed time....which is to be expected. Once she realized she had her own place.....she seemed to like the idea. I have found her in it during the day just sitting there being all cool.

The pugs have a chair of their own to sit in. Arrt and Lori Lou get on and off it all the time. The other day, Cinderella was making that sad dog whining sound. She wanted up with the other two on the chair. I guess she didn't know if she was allowed up or how to do it with them already in the chair. So, I put her in the middle of them. Not a single problem since then.....all three of them jump up as a group now.

Oh, and she answers to the name Cinderella immediately, now.

Museum (School of Rocks) hehe

What a day. I got invited to see the museum my neighbor friend, Tinker and her family, have put together.

It is in the original school house for this area....relocated, of course. Tiny little school that they all went to. About 7 or 8 itty bitty rooms. The stage is about the size of my kitchen. I sat and could imagine the students and teachers up on it doing plays, reports and such. Loved seeing it! They have all kinds of mining things, old kitchen items....rocks, bottles, books.....you name it......totally interesting. There are tools and big stuff outside.....I am a wimp and didn't want to go out in the cold. I will check them out on a warmer day.

I spent a little bit of time with one of the preacher wives in Hadley. We laughed and chit chatted over to the museum and back. Her son was cracking some kid jokes which was amusing.

Taking her out for a spin

numbers and misc info

My son gave me the number 5.

If you like or comment I'll give you a number.

1. My son sometimes likes to dance and sing I Am Just a Gigolo. hahahaha (okay Daniel....I simply HAD to post that one.....)

1. My name Terrie is spelled with an "ie" cause it was the in thing at the time I was born. Girls were given guy type names and they were spelled with an "ie" You will find lots of Tommie, Jerrie, Billie, Bobbie....etc. in my generation
2. My name Terrie is because my mom had a neighbor with a dog named Terry when she was a little girl....she liked the name.....and gave it to me.
3. Many of the girls born in my time have Lee or Lynn as their middle name.
4. I grew up being called Terrie....I turned it to Terrie Lynn when I started in AA. There were several Terry people at that time....and I wanted to be different.....and for people to know which one they were talking about when they were talking about me. Plus, it felt like I left my old self behind when I took on the new double name.
5. My mom and dad will only call me Terrie Lynn when they are mad at me. Ha.
*Bonus* I thought it would have been neat to have been named Terra.

===============================================
My second number......13.....so here are 13 more things about me you may or may not know.

Like or comment on my post and I will give you a number.

1. My favorite number is 44 cause it was my boyfriend's football number....and the only number I ever wore when playing sports. I wore his jersey and number playing powder puff football.
2. 8 is my next favorite number due to being born on May 8th. Everyone in my family knows that *8 is great* so this is not a new fact to them.
3. I haven't had a soda to drink in a little over 20-1/2 years. I stopped for New Year's due to a challenge from my kids.....I was drinking so many Dr. Peppers it is amazing their stock didn't drop in value when I quit!
4. I wanted to be a police officer, like my dad. But, alas, at the time I was growing up....women had to be 5' 8"....I was only 5-5 1/2"
5. When I couldn't be a police office, I seriously thought about joining the Air Force....I wanted to be the stewardess on the President's plane. Made sense to me at the time.
6. I had a pet tarantula named Okie for 8 years. She was brought to me by my FIL at the time....all the way from Oklahoma, in a can.
7. I had a red tail boa for a little over 13 years, named Columbia after my girl on RHPS.
8. I learned to drive in a T-bird with no second gear, at the age of 19.
9. I never missed a day of school....ever.....perfect attendance up till my senior year. I left home, got married, and found out I was pg. I had permission from the school to complete my senior year, but got so darn sick I ended up in the hospital and was not able to go back to school that year.
10. I wanted to name Robbie Lynn, Shasta, after my favorite flower....the Shasta Daisy. To this day she is thankful I didn't. hahahaha You have to remember, my kids were born in my hippy phase of life.
11. I bleached out my hair and went blond.....once long ago. I have the picture around here somewhere. I look awful as a blond.
12. I sang in choir....alto tenor.....up till I hit puberty and my voice totally changed! I miss being able to sing like that.....
13. I took my GED test at the age of 25. I never studied cause you didn't do it that way back then. You simply signed up, took the test, and either passed or failed. If you failed, you waited a certain amount of time and tried again. Of course, I passed. <wink>

==================================================
My friend John gave me the number 17......
If you want to play along....like or comment on this post.....and I will give you a number. If you don't want to play or have already done this several times....let me know and I will let you slide....this time.

1. I walked to elementary school. No one worried about a girl walking. And I took my own lunch from home in a cool lunch kit.
2. I was able to volunteer and work with the blind kids in our elementary school. Brenda was the first blind person I had contact with. She showed me the machine she used to print the dots for her homework. We were good friends till we moved away just before junior high started.
3. I was the pitcher for my softball team in elementary school....until a hit right straight back at me got me in the face.....scared the heck out of me!
4. When I was in elementary school, we had oil heater things mounted on the wall under the windows. I loved sitting there in winter....and sneakily melt my crayons on them.
5. I was the one who hand drew maps for geography class lessons. My teachers loved my artist side.....remember this is back before the internet, and computers, and copiers. The copies of the maps were made on these machines with a green paper, and smelled really good when printing them. Ha.
6. My 5th grade teacher had me grade most of the tests, keep the grades in a hand written book....and fill out the report cards for the whole class.
7. I also would do the bulletin boards in most of the classes all over the school. Hand cutting out those wavy edges to go around the boards and all the letters.
8. I learned to play chess in the 6th grade, at lunch, watching some of the chess team guys practice.
9. My very first nick name in Junior High was Tree. Ha. I had this necklace of a tree with the word on it....people thought it sounded like *Terrie* so they called me Tree.
10. I grew up with three tv stations, NBC, CBS, ABC and two UHF stations. I watched Captain Kangaroo iand Cadet Don n the morning before school.....and Kiterick, after school.
11. I would chase and catch chickens, by their legs, not their tails.....wring their necks, pluck them for dinner....at the early age of 7. You didn't pay the store for something you could do yourself.
12. I love to go crabbing off the jetties in Galvestion....although I will not hang out while you cook them....nor will I eat crab.
13. I am a fishing nut....I could do it for days....alas, Mr Awesome doesn't like fishing so I have only gone once or twice in all the years we have been together. I kind of miss it. I do/did cook what I catch......but now a days would be happy to catch and release.
14. I will pull over anytime I see a turtle in the road.....move it to the other side so it will be safe.
15. The San Jacinto Monument is my most favorite place in the world. I want my ashes scattered there when it is time for me not to need this body any more.
16. I rescued a big huge bullfrog from biology class in the 10th grade. They had it for dissection. I knew there was nothing to be done about the already preserved frogs we had..... I did my first official protest over that frog! I took it and refused to let them have it back if they were going to kill it. It was finally approved for me to take it home...which I did.....and it lived a nice long life in our duck pond. And....I also refused to dissect *any* of the frogs in that class.....and got permission to not do it......although I did have to take the test.
17. I liked to go crawdad hunting in the ditches as a kid. Yes, we had ditches. Crawdads can be quite feisty little critters.

11-14 BINGO

FB thing from Jay

Photo: Happy Counting Day!

Library

I went back to the library today.....and told the girl at the desk, I was sure it was a government and library conspiracy to be closed for a holiday on the day my movies were due back. I had my dollar out to pay my fine.

The girl had no sense of humor. Ha! She simply said, the computer knows it was a holiday....you don't owe anything. To which I replied....so my self-righteous attitude was totally wasted?? I worked hard on it. At this she did smile.

So, I used the dollar to buy a paw and put the pugs name on it in memory of Dollie Mae. The money from the paws goes to buy things needed for the animal shelter. A dollar well spent.

Hawk

I just found these while out with the pugs. They are orange in color. Maybe they are off my hawk I call Alan? I didn't find anything but these feathers. So hopefully it is alive and only lost them in a bird fight somehow.

Photo: I just found these while out with the pugs. They are orange in color. Maybe they are off my hawk I call Alan? I didn't find anything but these feathers. So hopefully it is alive and only lost them in a bird fight somehow.

Okay....update....I did the searches and it is a red tail hawk....and apparently it is illegal to own them. They are protected birds.....Native Americans are allowed to have them....I am Cherokee in my background....Great Grandparents....wonder if that will count?? I am being serious. I called and left a message with the Nevada nature society to see what I need to do to keep them.....I would love to put in a frame or scrap book. If not.....then how the heck or what the heck am I supposed to do with them?? More will be revealed.

==============================================

Update on the hawk feathers.....I have to destroy them. There is not a form or anything to be filled out in order to keep them. Sad. Such pretty feathers. She did say it was okay to take pictures and keep those.....so I will. I told her I knew we had the hawk cause I named him Alan after Hawkeye on MASH. She chuckled. I also told her I did not locate any injured bird.....of course, we all know, if the bird went down....the coyotes would have taken care of any thing on the ground.

At least this is something interesting that happened in TMON to be talked about in the future.

Messy.......nope

Photo: This is the BEST justification for messiness I've ever read. :)

via The Nourished Life

I see you

Did you pay the electic bill??? hehehe

Wow. Sometime around 3-ish in the morning....our electricity went out. I kind of expect it out here in TMON....yet, it wasn't snowing or anything. I have yet to get gossip of what went out where.....no doubt it was a transformer, of course.

Anyway...I just got a text the general store is closed till further notice. Seems the generator kicked in at the power outage...and blew out all the lights and plugs and stuff. Mercy me. I asked and thank goodness, the frozen food cases appear to be working fine. I am glad they are not going to lose all the food, dairy and such.

The camera systems that Mr Awesome installed worked properly till their back up battery died. Yea. He did a good job with them.

This is our only store with real food closer than an hour away. Pray they get it all fixed quickly. Many families depend on it for their food.

==============================

For the record....I noticed it about 3:30.....wandered around in the dark....found his cell phone....located mine which has the good flashlight app......got a lighter and waited till time to get him up for work. The lighter was for our oil lamp. I am going to get at least two more oil lamps if and when I get a chance. I like them......they do much better than flashlights when it comes to putting out enough light to see around the room.

RL

Robbie Lynn called me tonight.  For no reason.  Just to talk.  I made her laugh.  She asked how living in TMON was.....I told her it sucks.  bwahahahaha   She is enjoying her new position.  Got to do crafty things at work cause they found out she is creative.  :)    I was really nice to hear her voice.

Stuff

Found a possible job for MG last night.  UT in Austin.  My heart wants it very much so we can get the heck out of here.   But you know.....when you want it too much....it probably is not the way God is going to take me.

I am frustrated today.....in a low mood.  Probably cause the weather is weird....it is warm....no bad weather in site....but my head hurts anyway.

Even if he were to get the job....we do not have money to move.  We never have the money to move when it is time to move.  HA!   I am frustrated cause if I had not of gone to Texas and he had not needed to come bring it all back out here....we would have been able to save several thousand dollars.....we *should* have at least $10-12 thousand saved by now.....alas we don't.  Where did I go wrong??

Cinderella is going bloomerless today......maybe she won't need them anymore??  She is real good about waiting to get them on.  She looks so cute.  She is cute.....

11-07 Gratitude

Day 7: experience
I made the paper dolls in all kinds of colors...then hole punched little puzzle pieces to put on the word me....this is to show that each person adds a little piece of themselves with me. I put two little holes also...to show that some people take a piece with them when they leave, which is a hole that someone else will fill. I also did not fill the whole word "me" up to show that there is room for all the people I am going to meet in the future. No stamping or ink stuff today.
I don't have three for today......I am simply going to say I am grateful for absolutely everyone!!

11-06 Gratitude

1.  Socks.  :)   I really do not do well with cold feet.  If my feet are warm...then the rest of me thinks it is warm too.  I especially like Mitchell's socks....hehehe

2.  Dancing.....my sneaky way of getting a wee bit of exercise in my life right now

3.  The washer and dryer.  Seems funny to be thankful for those, I guess.  Here in TMON tho....it makes life so much easier.  I have no idea what it would be like to have to take everything over to Hadley to wash.  There are only the two of us....but I am always doing a load of something, it seems.  :)

11-05 Gratitude

Day 5 : Gratitude

* The internet. Without it, it would be kind of lonely here in TMON. I appreciate this modern way of keeping up with family and friends.

* Scrap book layouts ~ doing the gratitude journal with a group in scrapbook form. Makes me look at it in a different way, not just words but with pictures and creative colors and stuff.

* Cinderella. She came to us with a few issues....most have worked themselves out already. She trusts me. She will never take the place of Dollie Mae, of course......she brings her own personality to the grumble. She is a talker.....it is cute when she has something to say.

Day 5~Community I took some of my little round stamp pads, made a circle and gently pulled them done the page for a random design. I wrote on regular ol' line paper then used staples to add them to white card stock. Used the same ink pad to do the edges of the card stock. I tried drawing a female face like some of you guys have been doing....colored the hair with Stampin' Up pencils/water. Then used a hole punch to make the spots on the letters. Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ tlg

11-04 Gratitude

Day 4 - gratitude

+ The library - going to get a recorded book today or maybe a movie or two.
+ Well water - it is straight from the ground,no going through processing plant or systems and colder than anything I have ever had anywhere...ever!
+ Little heaters - we don't use the propane here to heat the house. People in the area say they pay $500 or so a month for propane.....our little room heaters get the job done.....we only need to heat the area we are in. They work great.

Day 4 ~ Bucket List. I made the bucket out of my foam plate from my sandwiches. ...good ol' recycling. I colored the little roses on the doily and added green leaves just to highlight them. Hehe Most of what I want to do at this time of my life is go on trips. I have long term friends in other countries I have never met face to face. I hope to be able to do it. Mario ??

This is what happens when you find a handful of G=kid's Legos in the bottom of a box. No idea how I ended up with them. Mr Awesome found them and the kid within showed up. Ha!

If I close an eye and lean my head just right....I can see Doctor Who at his console in the TARDIS.

Thank you Daniel for Mario.

Lego man's head hit the floor. Cinderella was all over him. Bwahahaha. Mr Awesome saved him after a big battle. Cinderella gave up...probably cause she decided it didn't taste all that good anyway.

Rambling....as usual

Lori Lou just never stops being a source of amusement.....she springs up and chases a dust devil that went across our drive way.......growled and barked at it and everything. Then, she went back and stared at the drive way......we suspect she thought a vehicle was coming in the yard because of the dust......she was probably wondering where the vehicle went.
======================
Watching nature today (11-03)........the clouds are backing up on the other side of the mountain.....not a big deal, they do it all the time, right? On the way back home from the store I noticed what was happening from a different angle........every so often, they will spill over the mounting in long lines.....and continue on their way....which means there were lines after lines of clouds......kind of like a pattern painted on the sky.
=======================

I just spent some time crocheting a hat pattern....and it came out looking like...well....not nice looking at all. I wonder why that happens?? Basic pattern, nothing fancy.....tore it out.....will start fresh tomorrow. What bugs me the most is the time I feel I wasted....not sure what I would have done with it....but I don't like that is wasn't used in a profitable manner.

Unicorn

First time I made a cap other than the regular beanie. It is for a friend's little girl....they live in Florida. Kind of tickles me that it gets cold enough in Florida to be able to use a cap.

Used the color block technique
The turtle is in honor of Annie who died since we moved here....she was at least 18 years old.  The blue bird is to represent all the birds I watch around this place, plus it is the state bird.  The gnome is just to keep the layout from being a sad one.

11-02

Day 2 ~ Gratitude
* The daughter and Son1 are both doing good at their jobs. Makes me content to know I have no need to be concerned for them in that area.
* Finn......the newest baby born to family/friends. Birth just always makes me smile. I know God is still showing there is great hope for humanity.
* The windows in my house. Might be a silly thing.....but I have always enjoyed taking time to sit and watch the world go by. See what nature is up to out there. Windows bring me pleasure.

Attached is my page for Day 1 of the scrapping group. If anyone is interested in joining the scrap group....let me know....I will send you the info......I found out I did the challenge from last year....oops. I still like it. We had to use a color we don't like or don't use much. I hardly ever have a need for browns or orange....so I went with it. This is the mountain out back, and the star I saw.....of course, I don't actually have a tree in my yard.....but I liked making an abstract tree. Now....to see what I can get into for day 2.

11-01

Day 1 ~ Gratitude
* Acceptance....accepting I am right where I am supposed to be, even if I don't want to be here.....I want to be somewhere else.
* Willingness......willing to start changing the way I look at things, how I have been dealing with things....one small thing at a time.....
* Gratitude.....grateful for friends and family who are going to be doing the 30 day challenge with me in several different ways and formats.

This is going to be a great month for growth. Oh, and change too. Never care much for change.....yet, for me, at this time in my life....change is becoming necessary. More will be revealed.

11-01 Finn!!!

I think I became a 1/2 Grammie today. My g-girl2 who lives in New York has a new half brother. Finn was born today. Cute little guy.....sweetest baby face. So I am joking with them....that I think I am a 1/2 Grammie some how. God bless the new little guy and thank you for getting him here safe and sound.

 1:18pm to be exact. At 5lbs, 14oz.

City girl ~ icy/snowy

Little Ms City Girl....now in TMON.....well.....let's say, they probably never had slightly cold weather......much less the snowy/icy stuff that was waiting outside the door this morning! bwahahaha I shouldn't laugh, but it was a tad funny to me. All three pugs are hyped up, ready to go out and do their morning thing....Arrt and Lori Lou have been through one winter here, so they took off to get things done.....Cinderella hit the breaks and stared. Then proceeded to tell me in no uncertain terms why she needed to just go back inside. Poor city girl. I wonder what she will think when it is real snow, and it sticks, and it piles up taller than she is??

Yes, I AM pretty, thank you.

Photo: Cinderella looking pretty on this sunny Sunday in TMON.

10-28 snowbow

I was watching the rain come my way......thought I saw a rainbow so I snagged the camera to get a shot....alas it was not, or I simply missed it. Either way, it was snowing a wee bit.....lite little flakes.....I wonder......if there HAD been a rainbow....could I have claimed it was a snowbow?? hehe Now I have a new mission.....to see if I will be able to get a rainbow picture while it snows around here.....you never know....I might be able to.

10-28

Poor Cinderella....she is officially kennel bound for a while. We are going to treat her like a little puppy.

She wants to mark in the house and she thinks it is the most fun in the world to run to the yard behind us......neither of which is acceptable anymore.

I do the "bloomers" to help with the marking issue....and we have been using the leash to walk her......time to time we go without the leash....and off she runs. Soooo this is her own undoing.

She will stay in there, come out to potty and eat, and of course some loving time....but she will be staying in it till we retrain her to what is acceptable behavior.

==============================

We made it one whole round....after two hours...did a walk....and then they were all sleeping on the couch by me till time for Mr. Awesome to come home.  Ha!

(10-26) PB&J time

Plans.....plans....plans

Today is going to be eventful. We are going to toss out a couple of the old couches and rearrange the whole house. Going to see if we can get some of the dust, pollen and crude out of the house....the stuff that I think is keeping myself and Arrt dealing with allergy like symptoms. We are never going to be able to get all the dust totally out of the house, cause it never stops blowing around here in TMON.....yet, the yellow plants are done for the season (I think).....maybe we can at least remove a layer or two of pollen. Ha!

It will look really nice when we are done. Haven't change the arrangement since getting it all set up last year when we first got here. Change is good. Pugs might not like it....change bugs them. I suspect they will be happy as long as they have their pillows handy when we are done.

When totally done....we will have room for one of my folding tables to stay set up all the time. Which will give us a place to do puzzles again. Yea. I like listening to audio books Mr Awesome got into enjoying them also.....makes for a nice evening thing to do other than just staring at a tv mindlessly for hours on end. We stare at puzzle pieces instead. bwahahaha

Birdies

We have magpies!!! I thought they were crows taking on a winter color.....but.....doing my bird research, I figured out they are magpies. I have never seen magpies before.

I also realized I was incorrect about my hawk last winter. I thought it was a hawk with white winter feathers.....wrong! It is a white tailed kite

I am so enjoying the birds here.......Mr Awesome suggested I start a list of the ones I figure out and see here.....good idea.....can add to a scrap book page for TMON.

♪♫ ♪♫ ♪♫

Okay, so ummmm, I know my singing isn't that great.....but I am not sure what to think when Cinderella looks up at me with that pug head tilt going on. I explained to her that I am singing. Now, why the heck do I think I need to tell a dog what I am doing? Like she is going to understand me or something. Ha.

Meadowlark

*One Bird Mystery Solved*

Remember a week or so ago there were little brownish colored birds, with some pale yellow on them I told you about? They were picking up popcorn I tossed out for birds to enjoy.

Well I looked and looked and looked at bird pictures.....all kinds of Nevada bird pictures. Couldn't figure out what they might be.

I figured it out in such a silly way. The little road that runs to the side of our property is named "Meadowlark". Soooooooooooo I had the bright idea to look up this bird. Eureka! Yes.....that is what they are. hahahahaha Meadowlarks..... females......

Now....on to other birds we have hanging out here.......

Stepping Out On Faith.......again

I am in bad shape....and getting worse it seems.....I am back over 300 pounds.....last time I stepped on the scale a few days ago it was 317 pounds. I guess I should go and check to see what it is for today.

Now my weight goes up and down all the time....has ever since I had the thyroid issues and the surgery to remove it. My fear or concern is that I am too heavy for my knee replacements to carry the weight. I have GOT to do something.....the weight has GOT to come off and stay off. <sigh>

So I am back dear Stepping friends......asking for simple support......I am going to start with a walk to the end of my driveway and back.....I will commit to one a day for a week......no, that is not much. Yet, with this weight I have back on, it makes my back hurt to go that far......so, baby steps is what I think I need to commit to, that way I won't have a reason to say "I couldn't make it". One trip a day......who knows.....it might be two or three or more a day......my commitment this week is for one.

I *need* to be below 200 pounds.....I know it....have known it for years.....just never get anywhere near that before the body puts the weight back on. I can make it down between 250-265 or so. So, another part of my plan I am going to be working with.......I will lose 5 pounds......I am only going to work on losing 5 pounds......when I make that mark.......we will talk about my next goal.

Starting today......God and I are Stepping Out On Faith.......once again.

Patty cake???

City Pug, Cinderella found her first cow patties today. hahahaha She was just be-bopping along when she found one.....stopped and sniffed. Sniffed it a couple of times, then found out it would flip over. (it was dry, obviously). Sooooooo.....she decided she needed to bring it over to us. hahahaha The look on her pug face was priceless when she realized it didn't taste all that great. Yucky. She looked at us in surprise. Then she saw the next one.....took twice to learn that it was not a good idea to try to show one to us. Silly little pug dog.

Cinderella ~ again :)

Okay, Cinderella......now that we have been able to be in our own space with her. She is a smart little thing. It appears she was kennel trained. She goes right in and settles down with the other two at night. She is also trained to a harness.....when we get ready to take her out....she presents her back to wait for the leash to be added. The marking the house is getting less and less.....the bloomers have probably helped with that.

She is more than willing to help eat a wiener.....turns her nose up at french fries and potato chips. Bacon dog treats are nice. And ummmmm, hey.....you going to eat all of the sammich or are your going to share??? hahahaha

We had our first attempt to keep going when we went out earlier. Both Mr Awesome and I have been taking her out without the leash.....keeping a close eye on her. She stays with Lori Lou and Arrt. This time she just took off down the drive and kept going...turned left and was walking along the road.....I followed and called her.....of course she doesn't know her name. Duh. Ha. Anyway....I do not chase dogs.....I use a different tactic..... I called Lori Lou and Arrt and said loudly.....lets go back inside. We all headed in. I kept an eye on Cinderella.....she was watching what we were doing.....then came running to beat us in the house! hehehe My idea worked.

Now we have the tie down lead attached to the table out front....she will be going out on a leash again for a bit.

I am very thankful for her being trained....and I am very thankful to have her with us. It will all settle down in the next week or so. We have only had her for 24 hours.....

Who Who!

Yea yea yea.....doing the drunken giraffe dance!!

We were at Walmart getting a few things to take back with us. I was sitting up front waiting for Mr Awesome.....a group of people walked by. One lady smiles and says....I am a Whovian too....

My second time for someone to recognize one of my shirts. Whoot Whoo.

Cinderella

Took back the little doggie undies I got at Petco yesterday. I just couldn't make myself accept 12 pairs for $17.00.

At Walmart we picked up 30 pairs of Huggies for $8.97. I am going to cut a simply little hole for Cinderella's tail. Ha! Much better price, don't you think??

The diapers both looked exactly the same....just one has a hole in them already......boy......pet owners can sure be sucked into paying way to much for things, huh?

Hopefully she will not need them for long once we get home and she learns what is involved for potty time. And hopefully she won't feel the need to mark to show her place.
Don't be surprised if you hear me writing and calling her Cindie Sue......she actually seems to like the sound of that....
.

Last day in Santa Ana

Not a bad night....which surprised me for some reason.

I had Cinderella's leash all tucked in so I could make sure she stayed up on the bed. Yet, she never tried to get down at all. Like all pugs, she just needed to know what was expected....so, she claimed a spot on the bed, pretty much right up under me, and didn't move. I am pretty sure pugs don't know how to sit or lay anywhere that doesn't involve being your second skin. Ha! Lori Lou and Arrt are used to sleeping on the bed....no problem for them at all. They love it. Made for a quiet night.

Now we are all doing the morning, watch the world go by out the window, thing. Lori Lou and I both like people watching. Arrt could care less, unless a dog is involved. Cinderella is sound asleep.

Last day here.....

Remover??? Hummmmm

Okay. I bought these at a dollar store today. I need to fix my nails. Now I see they are "tampon dissolvants". Good thing I am past that part if my life cause I can see where it might be an issue using these to take off nail polish. (Wicked chuckle)

Story of Ziva into Cinderella

Photo

oct 15
Look look!!! I was checking craigslist and found a family who had a pug show up a couple weeks ago. She does not have a chip....apparently had puppies some time along the way, so she will need to be spayed. The family tried to locate her owner with no luck. So they posted her. I sent email.....we met her today.....and now she is part of our family. ***We need a name*** They were calling her Torta (little sandwich, hehehe) I thought about all the different companions from Doctor Who....but none seem to suit her. When we walk her on the leash....she goes all the way to the end....then stands on her back legs and hops. It is funny to watch....so I thought maybe the name ~Bunny Foo Foo~ would work. <snicker> I would love some input and name suggestions.....kind of like when you guys helped up name the beta fish. I would to have a kind of unique name....not something you hear many pugs being called. Any ideas???
======================================
She is a darker fawn....with a black spot on her forehead. I am quessing she is around 4 years old.....she also appears to have had a broken right front leg long ago....doesn't appear to bother her at all.....but of course.....when we get her to the vet to be spayed....we can have it checked out
======================================
We flipped a coin.....she is named Ziva Ann.
======================================
Photo: Bwahahaha. Note....no blanket or sheets. Guess what she did.

She is on the leash which is attached to the drawer handle. She is a runner. Till we get home, she will stay on a leash.

She does understand the word "no". That helps,

Lori Lou keeps checking on me to make sure all is okay. Security issues which I expected.

All three are sleeping.....yea

Photo: So, we all made it through our first night together. Which is not bad considering we are spending it in a motel, and not at our home.

Since I am not too sure how potty trained Ziva truly is, I took her out twice during the night. Just to be safe.

Lori Lou and Arrt mostly ignored her. She stayed up by me.....not by her choice. :) I kept her on a leash to keep her from wandering and causing mischief. We had a couple barking issues......all of them did. Heck, it is a motel and people make noise in the hall....they are expected to bark.

She sits totally different from my other guys. She always, and far as I can tell it IS always....has one back leg or the other stretched out behind her. :)So, we all made it through our first night together. Which is not bad considering we are spending it in a motel, and not at our home.

Not that it matters much to the scheme of life.....but.....Ziva has been officially re-named Cinderella....Cindie for short.....Arrt and Lori Lou are from the same family......And my mom has Lori's brother, Muggsy. So we were joking about her being the step-sister....which worked its way around to Cinderella. That is a fun name.....and not something you hear a dog being called much....at least not that I know of.

Now I can get her a name tag for her before we leave the big city.

Pugs

The pugs.....oh yes....the pugs.

We have a room on the front of the building.....actually pretty nice view....I like people watching......apparently so do the pugs.....Lori Lou spent about an hour announcing each and every person/dog that walked by. Very kind of her, right?

Then, Mr Awesome brought back some Carl's Jr chicken stars for them. Now that made them very happy. In fact, now they have officially turned up their noses at the dog food I served them. Poor things....they have the opinion they are much too good for dog food. I will admit, I have been making most of their food for them for the past month....I suppose canned food is not all that appetizing to them any more.

Unit A

Next fun thing.....I call AA central office to check on the address of our original home group so we can visit them. They have moved around through the years.

The nice lady on the phones says.....okay.....where do they meet?? Ummmmmmm if I knew that, I would not be calling to ask for the address, right? (I didn't tell her that, of course) I told her the name of the group......she is like, what is the name of the group?? The name of the group (club) is Unit A.

I explain we had it as our home group.....about 22 years ago.....they moved from Burbank to Van Nuys the last time we were in California (18 years ago, or so). So she says.....you don't know they city they are in???? oh man.....I am almost laughing at this point.

I thanked her for attempting to help me.....cause I realized at about this point in the conversation....it is Sunday.....volunteers answer phones on the weekend.....and many times they do it from their home. So she is doing the best she can with the info she has.

I then went online and found them in about 30 seconds. <wink>

Santa Ana......the story starts......

Gto to our Motel 6....Tom had left the light on for us.  :)

============================

I have GOT to share this with you guys. Okay, okay....so here we are at Motel 6. Kind of a nice one too, actually.

We reserved a king bed with micro/fridge set up cause we are going to be here a week. Need somewhere to put drinks and stuff, right?

When Mr. Awesome went to get the room, he checked and got us a double (2 beds) queen room. I asked him to see if they have one....and they did. When we go on trips....the pugs always end up sleeping on the bed with us....experience has proved, two beds are better than one....more room for everyone. <smile>

Well.....we get all set up . Computer online (as you see). He hung up his nice stuff....water for the pugs...... Wait....a.....minute!

Where is the fridge and microwave???? hummmmmm Well.....apparently, you can have one bed and the fridge.....or two beds and no fridge. Now tell me, what is the reasoning in that??? hahahahaha

==========================

Now....to continue the "only happens to us" fun of my life........

Call Domino's to get pizza to the room. First one I find online...wrong one....but they are kind enough to give me the right phone number.

Call the second one.....really sweet girl answers.....yes, they do deliver to this hotel.....except......the system is down and they can only accept cash. Cash?? Who carries cash any more???

Hello Carl's Jr.....they are right across the street from our room. hehehehe

10-08 Lori Lou

She was enjoying the sun today.  A little sun diva.

In reality, she was watching for a jack rabbit or one of the feral kitties I feed.  She thinks she needs to protect the house from them.

Look what Marji made and sent me.

Is it bigger on the inside??  Nope....that is a washrag on the inside.  bwahahahahaha

Know what this is?

Photo: Know what this is?

We went to the little store right after he got off work. When we came out there was a parade going on! It is home coming night. :)

I cried which made him wonder what was wrong. I said nothing,it is happy tears....I just found it very cool that this TMON place cares enough for their students to put on a parade for Home Coming. There were the police and fire department.....and several trucks with the kids tossing out the candy. It was quite fun.

After it was over.....I saw a little boy, about 4, I would guess. looking for candy.....so.....our booty went to him. Asked his mom if he could have our candy....she smiled and said of course......made the little guy happy. :)

(okay, I ate the peanut butter cup....hehehe)
